One of the things that makes Hive Club different is that we’re not just about meeting every other Tuesday. Throughout the year, we look for opportunities to support one another, learn more about our members and strengthen the relationships that make our community so special.
Recently, Hive Club members had the privilege of visiting Heart of Kent Hospice, our chosen charity, for an insightful and inspiring morning hosted by fellow member David Dadswell.
Learning More About an Incredible Local Charity
Many people are familiar with the name Heart of Kent Hospice, but until you visit and hear first-hand about the work they do, it’s difficult to appreciate the true impact they have on families across our local community.
David gave members an engaging presentation explaining the vital role the hospice plays in supporting people living with life-limiting illnesses, as well as the care and compassion provided to their families.
It was a powerful reminder that the hospice offers so much more than many people realise, providing specialist care, emotional support and guidance when it is needed most.
How Community Support Makes a Difference
One of the most eye-opening parts of the visit was learning just how much the hospice relies on the generosity of local people, businesses and fundraising initiatives.
Every donation, fundraising event and corporate partnership helps ensure that patients and their families continue to receive the exceptional care and support they deserve.
As a networking group built around supporting our local business community, it was inspiring to see the direct impact that local organisations and individuals can have when they work together for a common cause.
Seeing the Hospice First-Hand
Our visit also gave members the opportunity to see the hospice itself and gain a greater understanding of the welcoming environment created for patients and their loved ones.
The dedication of the staff and volunteers was evident throughout the visit, and it was clear that everyone involved shares a genuine passion for providing comfort, dignity and compassionate care.
It left many of us with an even greater appreciation for the incredible work carried out every single day.
